How to make new friends during your internship

Combine work and play with your internship and our social programme

Overview

Nobody likes a week where it is all work and no play, which is why during your internship in London or Eastbourne we want you to get involved with our social programme.

You will get the opportunity to meet many different students, from our English school and also other interns, just like you. By attending our social events, you’ll get the opportunity to make life-long friends, create unforgettable memories and see some of the greatest places and tourist attractions the UK has to offer.

What is the social programme?
Our English Centre runs a social programme that is packed with exciting activities that you can enjoy whilst you are not at your internship. There are a whole range of activities throughout the week, so you will be sure to find something that will interest you, and at a time that you can participate.

You are welcome to come and go as you please; you are not obliged to attend any of the activities that are on our social programme, but we advise you give it a go – at least once!

What kinds of activities are available?
The social programme is varied to ensure that everyone has something that they will enjoy! Some examples of the activities available include:

  • Walking tours of London
  • Cinema trips
  • Full day excursions to places like Brighton, Oxford and Cambridge
  • Exploring the local area
  • Museum visits
  • Trips to the parks
  • Pub nights
  • Shopping trips
  • Quiz nights, and much more.

How do I find out what activities will be available for me when I’m doing my internship?

When you come in for your internship induction at Twin, just pop into our Student Services office and talk to our friendly team about the social programme, you can also take a copy of the programme with you.

How much does it cost?
Some of the activities are free, whilst others may cost a small additional fee. To make sure you are aware of any costs that you may need to pay, you can ask our student services team.
