Recruiting Engineering graduates just got easier.

What is a Masters' Industrial Practice?

Like a “sandwich year” for undergraduates, a Masters’ Industrial Practice year is a 1-year placement in industry that takes place in year 2, after students have passed their taught modules.  It is an integrated and assessed part of the course, so students can work with you full time as part of their course.

International Masters students on a placement programme can work full time in the UK as part of their course, and later on the Graduate Route visa or as new entrants.

2 Year Masters students who have an Industrial Practice as part of their course, can onboard with your company for up to 3 years before official sponsorship needs to be considered.

Twin Group is the embedded Placement Partner for the University of Greenwich, matching Engineering students with UK businesses that need cost-effective and qualified graduates for paid Industrial Practice Placements.

Our graduate students come with a global perspective. They are motivated, qualified and often experienced. They are ready to bring new skills, diversity, and a passion for development to your open roles.

Why Hire an International Masters Student?

Including international graduates in your recruitment mix could make good business sense, as well as growing diversity in your workplace:

  • Gain access to work ready, highly skilled, highly motivated masters students, many whom come with experience.
  • They have finished their taught modules and dissertation, so bring the latest learning, skills and research to your open roles.
  • They may be eligible for hire immediately after their placement year ends.
  • You have a whole year of engagement during which you can assess if they will be a good longer-term hire.
  • Employers with a diverse workforce benefit from higher profits*, increased innovation and creativity* and enhanced brand appeal
  • International Industrial Practice students can help you fill skills gaps in STEM and business professions once they graduate.
  • They are eligible to hire directly after their placement ends according to their work permission

The benefit to UK employers is that that Masters level students can be hired again directly after their placement according to their work permission.
